When God Lights the Path
“When you don’t know the way, God lights the path.”

There are moments in life when the road ahead feels unclear. Decisions weigh heavily, uncertainty clouds our thoughts, and we wonder which direction to take. In those times, it’s easy to feel pressure to figure everything out on our own. But God never intended for us to navigate life alone.
God promises to guide us. Scripture gently reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.” This is both an invitation and a promise. We are invited to trust - not partially, but fully - and in return, God promises to guide us.
Trusting God doesn’t always mean having immediate clarity. Often, it means taking one step at a time, even when we can’t see the full picture. It means surrendering our need for control and believing that God sees what we cannot. His guidance may come through scripture, prayer, wise counsel, or a quiet sense of peace. He is always leading.
You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. God delights in guiding you step by step. He is not rushing you or leaving you behind; He is walking with you, lighting the path as you go. Even when the way seems uncertain, His direction is sure.
So when you feel unsure, pause and turn your heart toward Him. Trust Him with the unknown. Take the next step in faith. The same God who calls you forward will faithfully lead you where you need to go.
Reflection Question: What is one area of your life where you need to trust God’s guidance instead of relying on your own understanding?
A Personal Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my guide when the path feels uncertain. Help me to trust You with all my heart and not rely on my own understanding. Teach me to follow Your lead even when I cannot see the whole path ahead. Give me peace in the waiting and courage in each step I take. Light my path and lead me in Your perfect will. Amen.
